Webinar #1: “What Does Health Screening Mean at the Grassroots?”
On 26 July 2025, we successfully launched the Aarogyam Webinar Series—a three-part educational initiative under Project Ujjwal aimed at expanding community understanding of anemia and thalassemia screening in underserved regions. Conceptualized and led by our team lead, the series bridges medical knowledge and community action, complementing our fieldwork through testing camps and the distribution of multilingual brochures.
The inaugural session, titled “What Does Health Screening Mean at the Grassroots?”, was moderated by our project lead and featured the Head of the Thalassemia Society of India as the keynote speaker. The discussion addressed critical barriers to effective screening in rural and tribal areas, including infrastructural gaps, diagnostic limitations, and community mistrust. Drawing on our experiences with the mobile health van across Gujarat and Palghar, the session unpacked both logistical models and ethical considerations central to effective public health delivery.
With over 200 participants—ranging from NGO professionals to public health students—the webinar concluded with a dynamic Q&A.
